New York Needs Your Care

With the rain pouring down on New York City today there isn’t much to spy outside besides the ever growing puddles. So, instead, I went online and stumbled upon the site New York Cares. The organization promotes volunteer opportunities throughout the city in a host of different arenas and concentrations.

New York Cares helped over 43,000 people volunteer with non-profits, schools and other organizations last year alone. Today, they are working on achieving Mayor Bloomberg’s civic initiative of 50,000 for New York — getting over 50 thousand people to volunteer in the city in the coming year. That’s an increase of 15% over last year!  They need your help.

Click here to read an interview with Executive Director Gary Bagley discussing the importance of 50,000 for New York. And visit the NYCares.org website to learn how you might benefit from getting your school, family, company or simply yourself involved.
